1 1/2 lb steak
2 onions
1 banana
1 oz butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 clove garlic
pinch allspice
1/2 pint stock
1 tbsp chutney
1 large tomato
seasoned flour
1 tbsp plain flour
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp curry powder
1 large peeled apple
First thing you must do is to cut the steak into cubes discarding any fat and then toss it in the seasoned flour. Melt the butter in a large saucepan and brown the meat on all sides and then lift it out. To the butter left in the pan add chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion is brown. Stir in the curry powder and flour and cook for 2 minutes and then add the chutney, sliced tomato, chopped apple and sliced banana and then season it with the salt and allspice. Stir in the stock and lemon juice and bring to the boil. Return the browned meat to the saucepan. Cover and simmer the beef curry very gently for about 2 hours or until the meat is tender. Serve the beef curry with freshly boiled rice
